Your help is needed. The corps is soon to be looking at setting its’ aims and objectives for the next few years and deciding which areas of Christian activity and service should be focused on. As such, we need as much input from you as possible so that we can discern what God is trying to say to his church here. Over the next few months there will be a widening consultation of peoples’ opinions and further information and probably questionnaires will follow. Please start to pray about this process and ask God for his guidance. One way of thinking about this is to consider a mission statement. This is a concise statement of facts about, and objectives of an organisation. You may have come across this in other areas of life. You may think the current mission statement of the corps (published in Linklines magazine) could be updated. What do you feel is God’s mission for His church here at this present time?Another way of considering this is to think of a strapline. This is a very short statement which encompasses a feeling for the ethos and raison d'être of an organisation or company. For example on the front page of the corps website are the words ‘The Salvation Army Tunbridge Wells ... a church with a purpose’. Another more famous example would be for the cosmetics company L'Oréal, ‘Because you’re worth it’.All your comments and ideas, constructive ones only please, are welcome! Please pray and consider God’s leading and send your thoughts in writing to the church office or email tunbridge.wells@salvationarmy.org.uk To see all content, you will need the current version of Adobe Flash Player to view it. |
